YouTube Music's 2024 Recaps Are Here — Here's How to View Yours

It's officially that time of the year when music-streaming services start giving users a look back at their listening habits for the year. To that end, YouTube Music announced on Monday that users can now access their 2024 Music Recap to get personalized stats regarding their top artists, songs, moods, genres, and more for the year.

You can access your 2024 Music Recap through the YouTube and YouTube Music app. There should be a banner available to you that invites you to check out your recap, but if you don't see it, navigate through the profile section to "Your Recap," and then tap "get your recap.

The YouTube Music Recap for this year has animated cards, not dissimilar to what appeared in Spotify's Wrapped feature that had popularized the year-in-review format services like YouTube Music and Apple Music later cloned.

This YouTube Music Recap is very much an audiovisual experience compared to its predecessors, which only used static images, complementing every top song with movement.

YouTube Music is also launching three new stats that will enable people to look even deeper into their listening behavior. As of now, you will get your personalized summary about your music taste over the last year. To illustrate, the YouTube Music may comment on your listening behavior for this year as "moody" or "amped.

Plus, you get a timeline that really shows major moments in the year. Perhaps you see that "January was your best month with Charli XCX" or that "March was all kinds of happy, at least musically."

YouTube Music will even give you an alter ego based on your favorite tunes and artists-the alter ego may be "The Hometown Hero," "The Life of the Party," or "The Hopeless Romantic.

And this year's YouTube Music Recap also lets you know the podcast highlights, which will update you on your top podcast for the year and a rundown of your top five.

Spotify and Apple Music are expected to roll them out in the coming weeks.
