YouTube is once again taking a page from Spotify's book, with the latest release of its own take on Spotify's yearly wrap up of each users' music interests.
YouTube's Music Recap will provide YouTube Music users with an overview of the artists that they listened to the most throughout the year, so they can get a sense of what types of music grabbed their attention in 2024.
According to YouTube:

Music fans can head to their 2024 Music Recap page in the YouTube and YouTube Music app, scroll through and enjoy their very own statistics, such as top artists, songs, moods, genres, albums, playlists, and much more from this year. With exciting new features, improved animations, enhanced photo quality, and the addition of podcast insights, your 2024 Music Recap is designed to celebrate all the sounds that made this year memorable.

The Music Recap on YouTube will feature new animated screens that guide you through your year in review, plus data and statistics on top artists, genres, and more.
YouTube also added a listening timeline, which reflects important moments during the year in your musical life.

It's a good way to encourage engagement with music: This is both by giving users such an insight and by also enabling shareable data cards with promotion of YouTube Music.

Maybe also, it will enable more discoveries of music that you appreciate through the genres that you found most interesting this year.

You can check out your YouTube Music recap here, while there’s also a Gaming Recap available too, which will show gamers the top gaming content they engaged with over the last 12 months.
