YouTube TV announced today that it will extend its partnership with internet service provider Frontier to roll out a single billing option for customers in the United States, allowing them to bundle fiber internet with YouTube TV on one bill.
YouTube TV teamed up in 2021 with Frontier for delivering fiber internet plus live streaming directly into their customer's homes. This time too, they required paying for these providers from another entity. The fresh new launch has brought integrated billing very handily to their customers.
Besides, it gives the benefit of availing YouTube TV with $10 on the one-year subscription by its Frontier Fiber Internet subscribers while an old subscriber to Frontier TV gets an abatement of $15 on its renewal.
The offer is likely going to make the customers jump to YouTube TV as the Frontier no longer offers its services. Frontier stopped offering the cable television service in 2021 after filing for bankruptcy in 2020.
Many cable companies decided to begin independent streaming services or partner streaming services like YouTube TV. For instance, Disney announced in public records in 2021 that it would shut down hundreds of channel options as part of its shift to its primary streamer, Disney+.
Our partnership with YouTube TV makes it easier for customers to ditch cable, said John Harrobin, Frontier's executive vice president of Consumer. We take our position as the un-cable provider seriously and are constantly listening to consumers. Many want one source for internet and TV, and that's what this partnership is all about.
Frontier is available only in 25 states, though YouTube TV also has agreements with internet providers, such as Verizon.
YouTube TV, according to reports, has more than five million paid subscribers and trialers in the United States. Last month, the company increased its subscription price to $72.99 a month from $64.99.
