X has launched its real-time search tool, Radar, for Premium+ subscribers.

This comes in the wake of increased competition from entrants like Bluesky and Threads, as X on Monday released a "Radar" trend analysis tool that seeks to provide subscribers with real-time insights into emerging trends and conversations on the platform.
The tool, then called Insights, was at inception fashioned for Verified Organizations-businesses, where marketers could track topics and trends on the app. If subscribed, marketers can use real-time keyword analytics to visualize trend activity and filter conversations. Radar, apart from tracking conversation volume over time, can track the conversation velocity. Its features will enable marketers to better understand how trends work on X, and it may even help plan the best time to post and reach their target audience.

While Insights would eliminate the need for a third-party tool to track trends, its price was a steep $1,000 a month or $833.33 a month if billed annually for smaller businesses to consider.

Rad, now that it's rebranded from its previous name X, will rollout its trend analysis tool to Premium+ subscribers starting Monday. The high-end subscription on X provides a few premium features like a verified checkmark, editing posts, an ad-free experience, and more, all for $16 per month or $168 per year for a yearly subscription via web.

In a post on X, the company states that Radar will arrive as an early version, but additional updates are also planned. However, only selected subscribers will have immediate access to Radar, according to X.
On its official debut Monday, some had already spied Radar's landing earlier this month, previewing it as something of a more potent search tool.

Commentators on the earlier embracing of the new Radar search feature by some have said that its search algorithm is much improved. At least one user noted that there are problems that remain, such as the inability to search back further than three days. Other suggestions included more filtering options and integration with X Pro, the formerly-called TweetDeck desktop X app.
