Now, I do not know why that will be a revolution or some advancement or even a step in any particular direction, but for some reason, Elon Musk and his team believe this is a big deal with regards to allowing audio and video calls from X.
Now it is expanding its audio and video calling features to all the subscribers in the app that aren't Premium, meaning you don't even need to be a paying subscriber for the new connection options.
Audio and video calls with X Premium subscribers launched on iOS back in October, then reached Android users last month, but X is expanding access yet again.
But, for example, already you can call somebody and make a video with the same person using a mobile device on WhatsApp or in Messenger, for example. No one's going out for drinks to wait till you could do a voice call or a video call on X.
But Elon claims he's cutting off his telephone number because X will now replace his telecom and, given reflexive headnodding on the part of his most devoted disciples every time he opens his mouth, doubtless many of them will do the same.
But I'm thinking not very many other people will be bothered.
Still, if you do, in the near future, soon you will be able to start an audio or a video call with your connections to X, and there probably could be some value therein, at least for brands hoping to use the platform with their customer service.
Perhaps most X users won't even notice, but this does represent an interesting addition or the beginning of strategic expansion of opportunity for those conducting a ton of connection activity in this app.
