WhatsApp announced its rollout of the feature that allows a user to use two accounts in one. This therefore implies that users will be able to alternate between two accounts on the same instance of WhatsApp.
Mark Zuckerberg, through his page on Facebook, came out publicizing the arrival of the feature into the user's Android devices.
Historically, two phones would be used to have two different instances of WhatsApp. The company is now making possible to use only one phone for two accounts. Moreover, phone manufacturers like Xiaomi and Oppo have features such as app cloning that let people take advantage of multiple WhatsApp instances.
Helpful for switching between accounts - whether work or personal - now you no longer need to log out each time, carry two phones or worry about messages from the wrong place, the company said in a blog post.
Add another account Users can for this by going to Settings > Add Account. For this, one would need a second phone with SIM or a phone with physical or eSIM facility for multi-SIM while setting it up. The company said that you would be able to have separate notifications and privacy settings for every account.
The messaging application already has multi-device support-the feature that enables users to operate their single account on four different devices. The firm rolled out a feature early this year that granted support for multiple smartphones logging into a single account.
WhatsApp has rolled out passkey support for the Android version of the application, meaning its users are no longer required to authenticate themselves using SMS-based two-factor authentication.
