WhatsApp has launched a native app on Mac today, finally bringing video calls for up to eight individuals and audio calls for up to 32 participants on the application.
He stated that the app will hit the shelves through his Facebook. People can get hold of the application through WhatsApp's website. According to the company, the macOS client is soon coming on the Apple App Store.
The app has been redesigned to be more familiar to Mac users and helps you get more done faster when using WhatsApp on a large screen. You can now share files by easily dragging and dropping into a chat, and can view more of your chat history, the Meta-owned app said in a blog post.
WhatsApp has been testing the native client for Mac for some time. Early this year, the company launched the app into public beta, where people operating systems with Apple Silicon and macOS 11 Big Sur or later could have access to it.
WhatsApp released a new Windows client like its group-calling feature in March.
The messaging platform WhatsApp first launched its desktop apps back in 2016, but the shifting architecture of desktop machines meant that it had to reboot its clients. So this year, WhatsApp began trying out multidevice linking to one account so users can receive messages on any of the four devices even if their phone isn't connected to the internet.
