There is this TV recommendation app known as Watchworthy that just released two new features to make it easy for viewers to access even more personalized recommendations - a new recommendation category for streaming services and collaborative watchlist that'll give movie suggestions for your whole friend group.
Watchworthy is perhaps most notable for its "worthy" score, which will tell you whether or not a given TV show or movie is worth your time. The app relies on the first-party data pool of parent company Ranker to provide its personalized recommendations as well as data gathered from an onboarding quiz that asks you to rate different TV shows from "liked" and "disliked" to "interested" and "not interested.".
Now, the app throws out a worthy score for streaming services-it calls "Worthy Services," giving you a sense of which streamer is worth subscribing to based on how closely their content library aligns with your taste in movies and shows. If you're obsessed with home improvement shows, for example, Watchworthy will recommend Discovery+ as a top pick, listing it as 95-99% worthy.
Major streaming services keep on hiking their subscription prices, which are making viewers indecisive about which to put their hard-earned money in. However, the new feature from Watchworthy might be the solution to the choices that will suit you.
Watchworthy lets you discover more than 200 streaming services like Netflix, Max, Disney+ Prime Video, Peacock, Paramount+, Apple TV+, and Hulu, among others.
They also introduced a "Watch Together" feature, where you can request friends other people; the app will then give "Group Worthy Suggestions" based on everyone's personal tastes.
The new watchlist, without doubt, will hit straight with the target audience as it might be next to impossible to find a film or a serial that meets and caters to the taste of the entire group. However, we add unlimited friends so do not think it will be an exact fit with such a large population.
The app, launched by online publisher Ranker in 2020, the company said, downloads are "in the healthy six figures."
