Screenshots published by users suggested TikTok's new Instagram rival sharing-photos app could be called TikTok Notes. TikTok itself confirmed that the app was indeed in the works.
For the past couple of days, many TikTok users have been getting pop-up notifications about a new TikTok Notes app to share photos.
According to the notice, the company is soon releasing a new application for photo posts called TikTok Notes and all the existing photo posts by users will be shared in the new application. Users also get the option out from sharing their image posts with the new application too.

Although TikTok confirmed it is working on the app, it wasn't up for grabs yet.
"As part of our continued commitment to innovating the TikTok experience, we're exploring ways to empower our community to create and share their creativity with photos and text in a dedicated space for those formats," a TikTok spokesperson told TechCrunch.
Separately, the URL owned by TikTok — photo.tiktok.com (Internet Archive link) — shows a placeholder marketing image on which text is written that reads "Opening in TikTok Notes."
In January, code and language in the TikTok APK file, installable file format for Android, revealed the company has indeed been developing a photo-sharing app called TikTok Photos.
But the latest pop-ups within the TikTok app might indicate that the company is considering another brand name for the app, however.
The two firms of Meta and TikTok are engaged in a fierce battle to gain control of the social media landscape. But whereas ByteDance-owned app is gearing up to roll out a photo-sharing app, Meta rolled out a vertical-first video player for Facebook.
TikTok is also trying out different formats, such as 30-minute long videos and even text posts like X and Threads.
