TikTok Unveils Education and Funding Programs in Celebration of Small Business Month

To boot, the company is revealing a new set of workshops for Small Business Month specifically created to assist SMBs with better making use of the platform in promotions, at the same time committing US$2 million in funding to aid Black and Hispanic entrepreneurs with business vision-building.

For starters, throughout the month, TikTok will hold a four-week long series of workshops - it calls this the 'TikTok TakeOff' series.

Tune in to the kickoff of our newly launched TikTok Takeoff webinar series. Aimed at telling inspiring stories and giving you the tools to grow your business, businesses of any size can learn how to use TikTok to find their audience and grow."

In the webinar series, you'll hear stories of SMBs who have had success within the app, along with tips and strategy notes to get you started.
TikTok's also donating $1 million to the Hispanic Heritage Foundation to elevate entrepreneurship in the Latin community, and another million to 'Black Girl Ventures'.

“Black Girl Ventures provides economic growth opportunities to Black and Brown women across the United States through education and access to capital. We’re partnering with Black Girl Ventures to invest in Black and Brown women across the country by supporting BGV’s expansive community programming, which includes entrepreneurship education, leadership development, networking, and funding opportunities.”

Lastly, TikTok will also focus on small businesses throughout the month and how they are utilizing the platform for best effect.
SMBs are an integral part of TikTok's efforts to stay in the US, as the White House considers banning the app due to national security concerns. According to TikTok, over 5 million US businesses now use TikTok to reach their customers, and such a ban would hit them hard, having further ripple effects on the US economy.

This, therefore means that there is a need for TikTok to preserve and highlight such connections where possible while at the same time working on its own opportunities in advertisement.
