TikTok Introduces Enhanced Targeting and Boosting Features for Its Promote Advertising Tool.

TikTok is introducing new targeting and boosting features for its Promote advertising tool, the company said on Wednesday. Promote launched in 2021 as a means by which creators could convert vertical videos into ads. The company is now rolling out more ways to make it easier for creators and small businesses to target their desired communities and choose how they can interact with their ads.

The company adds new features and allows advertisers to take their message back to a TikTok page with several products to show and numerous services provided. From here, an update about this new update of promoting feature is added, bringing more traffic; the viewers, based on an action taken and placed onto the promoters TikTok accounts. There is also a new "more messages" Promote goal that allows small businesses reliant on interaction with their customers to make their sales drive traffic to their TikTok inbox directly.

Further, Promote now enables smaller businesses working with creators to promote the videos or LIVE videos of creators to further boost views to their audience. TikTok has expanded the audience targeting for Promote to include location in addition to gender, age, and their interests; it would allow small businesses with locations to directly target their community.

We remain committed to expanding our feature set, empowering advertisers of all sizes to grow and meet their goals, be it to build your audience on TikTok or reach potential customers," the company said on a blog post. "Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to expand advertising opportunities for the TikTok community.".

These updates come as TikTok continues to advance in advertising. The company recently announced a new commerce ad suite known as "Shopping Ads," in an effort to make advertising easier for brands. The company launched an ad product known as "Branded Mission" in May, which allows creators to connect with brands and possibly get rewarded through videos. Also in May, TikTok launched its contextual ad solution called TikTok Pulse to attract the attention of advertisers to its own platform by allowing them the ability to display their content from brands next to best videos on TikTok.
Considering the interest of the company in asserting itself as an e-commerce platform, it's no surprise it is looking to woo more advertisers and build out advertising suite.
