Threads users can now see who follows them from other fediverse servers.

In a statement made on Tuesday, Instagram head Adam Mosseri said that users who connect their accounts to the fediverse, better known as the open social web, will be able to see from other fediverse servers, including Mastodon and Pixelfed, who is actually following them and who likes their posts.
Users will now have up to 15 minutes to make changes and edits to their posts on the social network, the company said, as well.

For instance, if you tap a post's activity or their follower list, you will see the complete list of followers and likes from other fediverse servers. You will have to click on a "fediverse followers" or "fediverse likes" section in order to be able to view the lists.

The news comes after Threads slowly deepened ties with the fediverse since announcing a few months ago that it would allow users to connect accounts to the fediverse, a first step that started in March.
However, the company started showing users fediverse replies on other people's posts some weeks ago, which brings more content to Threads. To be noted, users can already view fediverse replies on their posts since June. Though users cannot reply to the replies from another server by reply, Meta-owned said the feature is under development.

Threads is the largest social network that has signed up to ActivityPub, a decentralized social networking protocol that connects the fediverse-reaching nearly 200 million users, Meta said. The fediverse itself has more than 12 million total users.

With the additional extra time permitted for editing of posts, users will get more extended time to change or edit posts as had been before. Users could only edit or change five minutes.
The Mosseri said that in case you have connected your account with the fediverse; the edited threads posts will appear on the fediverse 15 minutes after the window for edit is closed.

Threads first introduced the capability to edit posts a year ago, and for users, they do not need to pay some extra fee in order to use it. X, however, offers the long time the user has before their posts are edited, as up to an hour the post may be changed after posting.
