Good news for indecisive folks, or those who just have a lot going on at any given time.
Threads has expanded its drafts element mobile, moving it into line with the desktop app, allowing users to save up to 100 Thread drafts in the app.
You can now add many more drafts on your listing in your mobile app so you could hold your various thoughts for posting at a later date.
According to further explanation by Threads, below:
"To save a post for later, exit the composer, or tap on the icon beside the three-dot menu at top right. Tap on the same icon to see all of your drafts, then select a draft to continue working on it."
Now, you will be able to swap out of Thread mode if you must, your pontifications saved and available for further clarification.
Threads originally rolled out the feature to have drafts on mobile back in March, but within the app users could only save one draft at a time. Threads extended the capacity for web drafts last August, saving 100 drafts.
Now mobile users can store many, many drafts. And really, if you have more than 100 Thread ideas ongoing, then really you need to loosen up your posting anxiety and start freeing some of those ideas.
Threads has taken off in the past few months, growing from 175 million users in July to 275 million now-more than tripling the growth rate it had been experiencing before that. Ongoing changes at X (formerly Twitter), as well as a rise in popular users posting to the app, have led more people to pay attention and join with their own communities on Threads.
Only time will tell if Threads will ever supplant X as the preferred real-time social app, especially in light of Meta's aversion to "political" content — something many users complained about on Election Day. Still, it's definitely on a fast track to more users than X as the latter loses audience.
The election result could change that, and certainly X owner Elon Musk is beaming with prospects of an enlarged personal soapbox after seeing the influence he wields. But that won't necessarily appeal to users, and Threads may soon be hosting a lot more active communities and activity.
And then there's the capability to save more drafts: another small step in a larger mission, or so it's shaping up to be. While mostly on the right track now, Threads has taken a few hits.
