Snapchat's Super Bowl LVIII initiatives feature AR lenses and prizes for Spotlight.

Snapchat announced some new activations for Super Bowl with diverse AR features to help users show their fandom about the big game.

Firstly, Snap will deliver a brand-new Super Bowl prediction lens that will enable users to test their forecasting powers over a number of game outcomes, with real-time data on how the rest of Snapchat is making their picks.
And in the end, Snapchatters can actually check back in and see how they did and share those results with their friends.

Which, obviously, is a doorway to sports betting - but it could also be fun, interactive for the day.

Snap also has its usual team Lenses, so people can show support.
While, it's also launched a new "Touchdown Challenge" under its Spotlight short video feature.
As per Snap:;
"This #TouchdownCelebration Challenge challenges Snapchatters to upload their most epic NFL Super Bowl #TouchdownCelebration for a chance to appear on the Challenge's main page and take home their portion of $20,000 in prize money.".

Undeniably, to make a topic go viral, awarding prize money is one of the easier ways to accomplish it, and the activation will surely see a great deal more Spotlight creators looking for ways to get in on the Super Bowl action.

Along with the aforementioned features, Snap said that there will be Super Bowl-themed Cameo Stickers on game day available through Search and the Sticker drawer, and Snap is also working together with the NFL on a new Camera Kit integration so that the NFL team can use Snap Lenses in the actual broadcast.

"Throughout the game, the NFL will provide entertaining and interactive Lenses to attending fans that elevate the in-stadium experience, including custom Vegas Super Bowl-themed helmets and helmets for both the 49ers and Chiefs. The NFL will also provide custom Super Bowl experiences in the official NFL app via Camera Kit, including a brand new gamified Super Bowl Lens that features trivia questions about the 49ers and the Chiefs."

At the very least, the Super Bowl is an event that nearly every social media app wishes to be involved in, and with millions of users interacting with the game, social platforms are working to maximize attention and get more people to take a peek at them in between plays.

It is a huge opportunity, at least on Snapchat. Snap says nearly 10 million people watched NFL content in the app for Super Bowl LVII, and Snapchatters in North America engaged with Lenses more than 2 billion times.

The more Snap can stoke those interests, the better, and these activations will no doubt help to make the Super Bowl a bigger focus for its users this weekend.
