Want to amass your organic presence on Snapchat, and maximize the reach and resonance with users of Snap?
This might interest you - this week, Insider obtained a pitch deck that Snap has been using to pitch users who are selected for its 'Snap Stars' influencer marketing promotion program.
Snap Stars, as Snapchat describes are:
".public figures or creators who bring some of the best and most entertaining content to Snapchat. Through their unique perspectives, Snap Stars give their audiences unprecedented access into a diverse and global set of interests, including the arts, beauty, news, gaming, music and more."
As Snap Stars, members of the program are eligible to have their content featured throughout the app, and after creators enter the program, Snapchat delivers to them a list of notes on how to make images and clips more effective-app-specific.
Some of those tips include, according to Insider, posting 20 to 50 Snap stories a day so subscribers are engaged for longer periods through day-in-the-life experiences.
Posting directly to the Snap Map, a feature where Snapchat users can see one another's location, so subscribers who aren't subscribed can easily find your content
Strong 'tile' on the feed: it is the most recent Snapchat photo or video taken
Catch their attention in the first one to three snaps so that they view the whole story
Ask non-followers to subscribe a few times a week and ask followers to turn on story notifications
Use captions because most people watch stories with the volume off
Make sure the ad content doesn't outshine the authentic personal content
So that's a lot – 20 to 50 Snaps per day is a huge ask and will be challenging for most people or businesses to entertain well at that volume.
But as with all social platforms, it is consistency and presence. And showing up is the big part of that. So I am not really surprised by Snap pushing the importance of regular posting. And even then, there is much.
And does people actually like that 'day in the life' stuff – like 'Going to the shops', 'At the shops', etc.?
I have seen a ton of wanna-be Snapchat do this, which feels overkill, but I guess, if you are entertaining and you know the platform, that could help to further ingratiate your profile with your audience.
Another interesting tip here is posting directly to the Snap Map which, might help to improve discovery, while managing how your profile appears in the app is another opportunity to get attention.
Most of these tips are pretty simplistic and very much what you've already read elsewhere. However, the output rate that Snap recommends is quite staggering.
On the other hand, this is for users that Snap wants to turn into platform-specific influencers, so it may not relate to people that don't belong in this category. Still, some good food for thought.
Time to start Snapping your every activity throughout the day.
