Could enhanced post visibility serve as an enticing incentive for social media subscription services?
Snapchat is testing a new 'Story Boost' feature for Snapchat+ subscribers.

Snapchat aims to allow Snapchat+ subscribers to reach more people with their content in the app, and a new feature that's reportedly coming up, called 'Story Boost,' would seem to blow up their Stories to more viewers.

Story Boost would presumably let Snapchat+ subscribers 'get more views' on their stories. Friends wouldn't be made aware that they used this option, which would spare them the embarrassment of paying for reach.

So how would that work?

Well, presumably that would at least ensure that your Story appears ahead of your other contacts at the start of the day, appearing first in a set of top Stories for everyone in your network. Hard to say that Snap could realistically do more here, anyway, given how all connections can view posted stories already—though I guess if it were a public Story, Snap could do that plus surface it for more assorted randoms and show up your Story otherwise through various discovery channels.

Not entirely sure, but it is fascinating to see Snap try out these visibility boost features, which are pretty much like paid ads, but for organic content.

We asked Snap about the new feature, which, again, is still in testing and may never see the light of day, and it told us that:

Our team is consistently working on the new experience for Snapchat+ subscribers. At the current moment we have nothing to share concerning this feature.
So we have nothing much to be said on it yet but it'll definitely be a great question mark if snap will work and implement pay reach tools into Snapchat+ or not and others will check it while determining their possible subscription tools.

I mean, Elon Musk has already announced that people who pay for his upcoming $8 verification plan will receive better visibility on their tweets. Perhaps that could be a bigger incentive to make more people pay.
