Samsung aims to eliminate the 'Settings' menu from its smartphones.

Samsung's Galaxy AI could render the Settings menu unnecessary by improving user experience through predictive features.
Samsung aims to eliminate the 'Settings' menu from its smartphones.

Earlier this year, Samsung took the greatest share of headlines with its launching of the first AI-capable Galaxy smartphone, the Galaxy S24, which sports a package of AI-driven capabilities that make life easier and more efficient for users.

And in a move to take the limelight further, the technology giant has taken the next step toward creating AI features that might just replace the much-loathed Settings menu sometime in the future releases of smartphones and tablets.

According to an ETNews report, Samsung is developing AI-based features that would allow users to navigate Galaxy without necessarily navigating through the Settings menu.

The company will integrate predictive technology that analyzes user preference and needs; this should change and streamline the way key touchpoints work, such as the keyboard and camera.
Little has been heard, but it sounds like something new, analogous to previous innovation in its One UI software for televisions.

The new version of TV software, when the Settings button on the remote is pressed, shows the most used settings so that the user doesn't have to go through multiple sub-menus for navigation.

In addition to this, Samsung has also announced a new version of Bixby that will be available in the future with large language models at its helm, which is the core for its AI-driven digital assistant.

The new Bixby will be able to understand complex sentences and deliver various commands given in one single voice instruction.

Already implemented in some high-end Bespoke series home appliances, this new Bixby aims at an even more engaging and powerful user experience.

Bixby has already been able to adjust several settings of Samsung devices up until now, but the upcoming one will take it even further.

It can even be allowed that users can sometimes share certain settings changes directly to Bixby just like it was present at the beginning. Bixby may also evolve to automatically predict the actions of the users based on the mobile usage trends of the users.

It seems that with One UI 7.0, Samsung is finally prepared to make a wide range of more sophisticated AI capabilities go live with the enhanced Bixby. It's even possible that users may enjoy vast functions without touching the smartphone screen.

If Samsung can deliver these AI features, it may dramatically change the way the users interact with their mobile phone.

But if it is not perfected, there may be an uncontrollable level of frustration.

While fans wait for Samsung to deliver a well-tailored product, one disturbing recent trend is that companies are racing into delivery unfinished AI solutions in the name of being the first.
