Reports suggest that Apple has scaled back Vision Pro production due to lower-than-expected demand.

Apple has reduced its production of the Vision Pro by a significant amount, according to a new report from The Information. It arrives at a time when Chief Executive Tim Cook said during an interview that the $3,500 mixed-reality headset is for early adopters and "not a mass-market product.".

The slowdown in production may come as a result of weak sales, and Apple is still in possession of enough stock to sustain current demand. Estimates over the summer conclude that Apple will not sell 500,000 copies of their 2024 devices.

A new report a few weeks ago has only served to fuel speculation that the company is preparing to release a more affordable model in 2025. The headset, priced at around $2,000, would forego the Vision Pro's faster processor and more premium build materials.
