Pinterest has introduced an enhanced method for boosting awareness of your Pin presence through improved board sharing, making it simpler to share your Pinterest collections across various social apps.
As illustrated in this sequence, Pinterest's improved board sharing feature will offer a more visually engaging way to promote your Pin collections across other platforms and formats.
The process is quite simple: select a public board you want to share, tap the “Share” icon in the top right corner, and then choose a template for how your board will be displayed. You can share this board overview as a Story, complete with an animated presentation of your selected elements.
This will also include a “Curated on Pinterest” marker, which acts as a watermark. While this could potentially hinder distribution on certain platforms (like Reels, which downranks videos with watermarks), the Pinterest marker does disappear. It's primarily intended for sharing in Stories rather than Reels.
This feature could serve as an excellent way to share your Pin collections and interests within the app.
Pinterest is particularly aiming to attract younger users with this update. According to Pinterest, “Users view their boards as personal sanctuaries for dreaming up their world and showcasing their unique personalities and aesthetics. For Gen Z users, Pinterest is not just a platform; it serves as a space for self-discovery and expression, allowing them to shape their identities on their own terms, free from external pressures.” This introspective connection has led to a surge in board creation among Gen Z users, outpacing other generations.
Pinterest notes that Gen Z users are eager to “develop their preferred aesthetic” within the app, and this new feature is designed to help them share their personal reflections on a larger scale.
With over 500 million monthly active users, Pinterest is increasingly focused on engaging younger audiences to maximize its growth potential. If you’re active on the app, it’s definitely worth giving this feature a try.
Pinterest’s new board sharing process is now available to all users.
