Peanut, a social network for women, has introduced a pregnancy tracking tool.

A new app feature will be launched by a social networking app specifically for women: Peanut Track. The company says that the new Peanut Track tool uses seven years of data from questions asked on the social network along with AI to anticipate questions that women have during different stages of their pregnancy.

Founded in 2017, Peanut is an online community created to connect women of all ages-from puberty to menopause. The company is now giving women personalized and anticipatory guidance for the stages of pregnancy.

So far, Peanut has been all about communities and linking women by their experiences. Here is the first step Peanut takes into the utility aspect of its service while trying to track one pregnancy at a time.

"We've always been about community," Peanut CEO and founder Michelle Kennedy told TechCrunch. "But what about the times when I actually am not looking to engage with someone else, but am looking to source information. It's really about serving you content which we know you're going to ask because all these other women across the seven years that we have been going have been asking the same."

One of the most exciting parts about this app is that Peanut Track offers information about what to expect at their current pregnancy stage and what they should think about in terms of wellbeing. The app will bring forth content from gynecologists who wrote the same.

Besides, it will display all the classic metrics regarding pregnancy. For instance, Peanut Track will be able to report that your baby is currently the size of a peach or a pumpkin. Additionally, the feature will be able to tell you what kinds of symptoms you're likely to be experiencing.

Peanut Track furthers the core mission of what originally formed the heart of Peanut, which is community, in that it also connects women to a community of women who are at exactly the same stage of their pregnancy as they are.

The feature was requested by users, said Kennedy, who added that Peanut was in a position where it could talk to the user base about what they wanted to see on the platform and then could work along with them to bring that vision to life.

It builds upon Peanut Track, the company's vision for future years. For women to be better prepared and prepared in advance to expect the early days of motherhood, peanut will track development and milestones.

"You can track your feed and your poops and all the other things that you have to do when you have a newborn," Kennedy said. "But also, what about you? How are you doing? How's your mood?" That kind of tracking is very important, particularly when you think about postpartum depression, loneliness-all of those other elements. I think it's really important because what's the point in telling someone, yes, we diagnose you as lonely without giving them the solution of 'here are other women who are in exactly the same situation as you, and this too shall pass,' she said.

Peanut has raised $32 million in funding so far. The company was raised $10 million in a funding round in August 2022 that went about helping Peanut reach profitability. Before that, the company closed a $12 million Series A in May 2020.
