YouTube has also provided some ads at the 2023 Super Bowl that includes the members of YouTube TV with the Sunday Ticket offer in lower pricing. The other customers not with YouTube TV are available for a subscription via its option for Primetime Channels of YouTube.

YouTube recently secured exclusive streaming rights to NFL Sunday Ticket, a sports package reportedly bid on by other tech giants Apple and Amazon. YouTube will likely command a high price for the NFL Sunday Ticket, but it may have a cheaper YouTube offering for viewers who want access to fewer games.

According to the NFL chief media and business officer Brian Rolapp, a "lighter" version of NFL Sunday Ticket may be planned by the league for distribution on YouTube and YouTube TV as an offer providing a specific number of games for a relatively low price.
"We're also thinking about but haven't made any decisions do you create a new product? Do you do a lighter version? We haven't made any decisions there but you will see that,". I don't know if we'll go team-by-team, but could you get fewer games for a lesser price? I think that's all up for debate and conversation," Rolapp revealed to the New York Post's Andrew Marchand and Sports Business Journal reporter John Ourand in their podcast.

Rolapp said one reason the NFL agreed to that streaming deal with YouTube is that the league wants to alter the Sunday Ticket product a little more. "It's been distributed for so long. I think there's probably a lot of opportunity between the 'all you can eat' and free television. I think there's a lot of room there to explore."

YouTube wasn't immediately available to comment on this story to TechCrunch.

It was also announced by the company that the NFL Sunday Ticket platform was set to hit YouTube and YouTube TV later this year where it would be available, besides the new add-on package option on YouTube TV, as a standalone offering via its YouTube Primetime Channels. This will be its first time available to viewers à la carte end.

There are no price announcements; however, it is going to be expensive. NBC Sports stated that "a TV person" estimated that "NFL fans will have to shell out about $300 per season for Sunday Ticket". DirecTV charges the customer $293.94 for a season or $395.94 for its NFL Sunday Ticket Max package with add-on content.

The Wall Street Journal reported that YouTube was paying around $2 billion per season for rights. DirecTV only paid $1.5 billion.

Phil Philipp Schindler Chief Business Officer, Google- Alphabet fourth-quarter earnings call. YouTube TV is intending to provide multi-screen watching capabilities. The user will gain features unique to the experience of the Sunday Ticket, that are comment, chats, polls, and others.
