Thanks to the new update, Netflix made it easier for iOS and Android users to search their "My List," in which users are able to have a special section assigned to saved movies and shows.
The streaming service began rolling out new filters for the My List feature on Monday, which lets users sort titles by release date, alphabetical order, whether or not the title is a movie or TV show, and the date for when the user added the title to the list.
Perhaps the most useful filters are the two new options, "Haven't Started" and "Started," which will sort titles by whether they have or haven't been started. New filters will help users save a lot of need-to-watch titles on their list and find ways to sift through the mess.
In the past, My List features had no filters at all, and mobile users had to scroll, scroll, and scroll inside the app to find what they were looking for.
The rollout starts with Android users and will hit iOS devices over the coming weeks.
In addition, viewers can now swipe left directly on the title cards if they wish to remove films or series from the list. Previously, before an update, users had to tap the title to be taken to a details page where they would then tap the My List checkmark icon to remove it.
The update will only be available to mobile users. A company spokesman speaking with TechCrunch said that Netflix does not have any plans to launch the update for TVs soon. My List was actually first introduced by Netflix way back in 2013.
The streamer is also introducing a new "Coming Soon" row on the TV home screen, which will be rolled out to all subscribers around the world in the coming weeks. As of now, users can find titles that are going to launch in the "New & Popular" tab. Adding a Coming Soon row directly to the home page will enable TV users to quickly see which films and series are launching on the platform.
