Netflix said four more games will join its platform this month, including a new version of Exploding Kittens, based on a popular card game and tied in with an upcoming Netflix series that premieres in 2023. The four new titles bring Netflix's gaming catalog to 22 games in total.
The Direwolf Digital-designed Exploding Kittens game retains the classic gameplay of the original card game in which players draw cards to avoid drawing an Exploding Kitten. Users will be able to play with two new exclusive cards: Radar and Flip Flop, which will enable them to manipulate the deck in new ways. The Exploding Kittens new game is expected to be released on May 31 in more than 15 languages.
Another game that has joined the Netflix's list is Dragon Up, developed by a Canadian developer, East Side Games. Here, one finds that it is a single-player adventure game where hatching and collecting rare dragons will help save one's kingdom. To make the game feel more magical, this graphic style is inspired by Scandinavian design and illustration seen in early storybooks and fairy tales, according to Netflix. The game launches today in more than 30 languages.
The second game is called Townsmen: A Kingdom Rebuilt and is Netflix's first game from Germany by developer HandyGames. Players can be building a medieval city, making smart financial decisions and doing whatever it takes to keep their people happy. The game launches today in more than 15 languages.
Lastly, Netflix is adding a game called Moonlighter from Spain by developer 11 Bit Studios. Players manage a shop in this RPG adventure game in an idyllic village by day and explore dungeons, slay monsters, and unlock mysteries by night. Moonlighter is rolling out today in over 15 games.
On Android, to view the titles you need to tap on the new Games tab in the Netflix app for Android where the games are listed. Once a title is selected, users are taken to the Google Play Store to download the games, as they would download any other app. Once downloaded, the games are available to play at any time through a tap of them, either within the Netflix app or on the home screen of an Android device. For iOS, Netflix uses a similar system whereby users are redirected to Apple's App Store for downloads.
