Netflix is cutting support for older iPhones and iPads that run iOS 16.
Users on devices with iOS 16 are receiving a notification from Netflix that says, "We've updated the Netflix app! To use the latest version, install iOS 17 or later," 9to5Mac reported.
It was in early July this year when Netflix had dropped its app for the third-generation Apple TV. The service announced the drop in support through email sent to subscribers.
As stated by the email from Netflix, it is doing this so "you can maintain the best possible Netflix viewing experience."
Now, the Netflix app will no longer support those devices that cannot be updated to iOS 17, which includes the iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the first-generation iPad Pro and iPad 5.
Users with these devices will miss updates from Netflix in the future, including all-important bug fixes and security patches. Apple is going to release iOS 18 on September 16th.
