Netflix has confirmed that it will not launch a dedicated app for the Apple Vision Pro.

Netflix has no intention of launching a native app for the Apple Vision Pro and won't even scale its iPad version for use on the headset. Instead, customers will be relegated to using the web version, which disables features like downloading titles for offline viewing.

That is, provided they're using the web browser on the Vision Pro, much like how Netflix members are able to enjoy the service on Macs, said a Netflix spokesperson in an emailed statement provided to TechCrunch.

Netflix reported earlier this July that the company has no plans for a native app, although this first came from the streaming giant.

Although the browser version should almost work the same as the iPad version, it is somewhat a disappointment for the subscribers who were looking forward to having an immersive experience while watching their favorite content on Netflix. Disney+ seems to try a bit harder, providing four backdrops in all: Marvel's Avengers Tower, the Scare Floor from Pixar's "Monsters Inc.," the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, and one featuring Star Wars, the cockpit of Luke Skywalker's landspeeder, and Tatooine.

One gets the sense that maybe it's not that important for Netflix to be too careful about how its Meta Quest app looks and feels. While other companies are all geared up for mixed reality headsets, the streamer is perhaps not too worked up about it. That's because many users complained against the "awful resolution" of the app that was full of bugs in general.

Mixed reality headsets are niche products and Netflix would probably not believe that customers will like the Vision Pro that much – at least not now — considering such an outrageous price tag is $3,500.

Apple Vision Pro will be available to purchase on February 2, and it will be possible to download and stream movies and TV shows from the likes of Disney+, Apple TV+, Max, Discovery+, Paramount+, Prime Video, Peacock, Pluto TV and Tubi, and more. Available on the gadget will be 150 3D titles including the "Avatar: The Way of Water," "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," "The Super Mario Bros," "Dune," and more. Preorder of the product starts tomorrow
