Along with AI advances in Windows 11 and Bing, Microsoft also this week announced it’s bringing new AI-powered features to its SwiftKey mobile keyboard app for iOS and Android. This third-party app lets users replace the default keyboard on their phone with an intelligent keyboard that learns your writing style so you can type faster. It will now also have AI camera lenses, AI stickers, an AI-powered editor and the ability to create AI images from the app.
The new AI camera lenses will let you take photos, videos and GIFs with different effects, among them, lenses that are powered by Microsoft's collaboration with Snapchat maker Snap. The company notes that there are more than 250 tools and filters to help you express yourself.
Also new is AI stickers, which can be made with Bing's Image Creator, making stickers based on your own photographs or even selfies. You can then share those with friends and family when chatting on various communication apps such as WhatsApp, Messenger, and so forth.
Bing Image Creator is also now accessible directly from the app's keyboard, allowing you to take a picture or upload an existing photo to get Visual Search results from Bing in the app.
The app is also getting an AI-powered "Editor" feature that will help you improve your grammar, spelling, and punctuation. You can highlight any sentence and get instant feedback and suggestions from the editor.
For months, Microsoft has been working to update SwiftKey. The company, of course, first integrated the app with Bing, which lets users search using Bing, chat using Bing Chat, or just leverage AI to change up the tone of their text.
New features are coming to SwiftKey on iOS and Android.
