With its success on Instagram through its Broadcast Channels, Meta is now extending the option to Facebook and Messenger as well, thus offering more avenues to the creators for sharing updates with the audience.
Broadcast Channels is, in essence, a one-way group chat option, which enables users to follow the creators and high profile people, who can subsequently keep their fans updated about the latest updates through DM.
And with more people switching their conversations to messaging, that's given an excellent channel for continued communication that has allowed many creators to use the feature to have a closer link with their followers, which also is algorithm-free suppression (i.e. not everyone is going to view your posts on each app).
Now that we have introduced the live broadcast feature on Facebook in the app, creator pages will be featured with an option to promote their channel in-feed, and thus creators will be able to promote their channel in feeds
Pages will be capable of creating a broadcast Channel within Messenger to reach that audience's inbox with recent updates.
The pages will also be able to share voice notes, text, photos, videos, and GIFs within their Channel chats. This could help improve community connection and engagement, as the usage trends go.
For brands, it may also be another way to strengthen the connection with the fans.
As things stand now, broadcast channels will only be available to the Creators on Instagram, but in making this statement about today's update, Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg says that Pages in the app will be allowed to create channels.
The above may also mean the brand Pages can create Facebook Channels.
We will see how it's rolled out, but meanwhile, it is another way of having immediate engagement with your most zealous audiences.
