LinkedIn’s ‘Funny’ Reaction Feature Appears to be Nearing Launch

Prepare to speak your mind in a whole new way on LinkedIn, because its 'Funny' reaction is one step closer to launch. LinkedIn wants to add something more to the standard reactions set with a new 'Funny', laughing emoji, so you'll soon have another means of giving quick responses to those funny classics.
Which, candidly, don't really seem to fit well on LinkedIn-and worse, many 'influencers' just steal memes like this from other platforms, then post them to LinkedIn and enjoy the benefits of those likes and engagement.

But there's always room for some laughter and jokes - and on LinkedIn, the 'laughing' reaction has actually been one of the most requested updates.

Indeed, back in February, as part of his team's work in updating it, LinkedIn Chief Product Officer Tomer Cohen said that:

"One of the top requests we got was for a laughing emoji reaction. We hear you loud & clear and we agree. Humor is indeed a serious business."

LinkedIn has also released a host of emoji reactions over time, including, for instance, the 'Support' reaction that rolled out in June last year in response to messages regarding the pandemic. Whether or not 'Funny' will be the next feature, based on user interest, can add some value to the app.

There has yet to be a word from LinkedIn regarding when it is planning to go live with its 'Funny' addition, and relevant section hasn't yet been added to its Help page for Reactions. LinkedIn usually adds sections for its Help pages before going live with a new feature, but it does appear that it's getting close, as this format and visual style look very nearly complete.

We've reached out to LinkedIn for clarification, and we'll update this post if/when we hear back.
