LinkedIn is rolling out its latest crop of updates to Company Pages, most of which it had already previewed, at least in part, but now delivers on a wider scale.
First, LinkedIn is making its new post templates available across company pages.
As you can see in these examples, LinkedIn's post templates, as they sound, provide a range of visual enhancements for your LinkedIn updates, which could help make them stand out in feeds.
LinkedIn originally launched post templates for individual users last month, and now, it's making them available for Company Page updates too.
According to LinkedIn:
"Create compelling, useable LinkedIn content easier than ever with fully customizable templates, available directly in the LinkedIn app, without ever needing third-party tools."
I don't think that these types of posts really fit with LinkedIn's professional approach. Of course, as many have noted, LinkedIn is becoming more like Facebook anyway: more personal posts and updates with fewer professional anchors.
And it appears to be paying off – Microsoft's parent company says it sees 'record levels of engagement' in the app each quarter, so maybe this is actually a good, worthwhile addition.
We will see how the masses react when every other LinkedIn 'thinkfluencer' starts posting using these templates. You access post templates via the mobile app by tapping the 'use template' option in the post composer menu.
As a bonus to this, LinkedIn is also making its new link stickers available for Company Pages as well, which could help more persons to act in response to your updates directly.
On another front, LinkedIn will also now enable all Company Pages to pin comments beneath their brand posts.
The rollout of this feature also commenced last month, as some users have reportedly begun seeing an option to pin comments in the app.
That might be a nice way to incite more purposeful engagement and feature leading fans, but you could also take the opportunity here to just amplify replies by pinning to the top of the reply chain the comment with the most engagement. As for a reminder, LinkedIn Company Pages can also pin an update for similar purpose.
Finally, LinkedIn added a new section called 'Our featured commitments' to Company Pages. This feature will allow brands to present their most important values.
Increasingly today, the market evaluates potential employers for their value. Job seekers want to know where the companies stand on issues that mean something to them, such as diversity, equity, and inclusion; work-life balance; sustainability; etc. LinkedIn is making it possible for employers to bring these values into greater focus and connection by highlighting these commitments on the company's LinkedIn page to define the brand and values of their talent.
Brands can include up to five featured commitments, and you can also add content displaying the same, which will all show in a sub-panel in the 'About' section of your Page.
These are some potentially helpful updates, but surely the link stickers and pinned comments stand out as likely the most useful additions for LinkedIn page managers.
Next up: post templates Not sold on this, especially for brands-but then again, perhaps there are ways to use these templates and make your posts better-looking, so you can increase overall engagement.
