LinkedIn has launched a new Media Planning API, targeted at its agency partners, that will provide data directly sourced from the LinkedIn platform: that includes user insights for the purpose of building strategic campaign planning.
That gives you even more to build out your strategy based on actual real-time data signals that can give you a better picture of likely reach, ROI and more.
As LinkedIn explains:
The Media Planning API lets agencies know ahead of time how much reach and frequency of brand campaigns would be achieved before spending a dime. That kind of insight gives marketers more accuracy and allows agencies to better scenario plan, drive measurable results on LinkedIn.
And so it is not for every marketer, and again it's mostly meant to filter information through agencies. The idea in the design is that this extra insight available at the planning stage should give more specific information on what to expect from promotions on LinkedIn.
Media Planning API: This offers users access to a range of LinkedIn user data points in demographics, job roles, industries, and online behavior.
This would be a good complement to professional LinkedIn ad partners and could help deliver better results with more direct linkages than traditional LinkedIn ad campaigns.
LinkedIn commented that interested brands can contact their agency development lead or LinkedIn sales representative for more information.
