LinkedIn has enhanced its language support options, now allowing users to engage with the app in a total of over 36 languages.
The platform enables users to view the app in their preferred language and offers translation tools to facilitate understanding.
Recently, LinkedIn added ten new languages to its core support framework.
According to Tomer Cohen, LinkedIn’s Chief Product Officer:
“We’ve expanded our language support to include ten new languages, each representing a vibrant part of our global community: Bengali, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Hebrew, Persian, Vietnamese, along with several Indian languages (Marathi, Punjabi, Telugu).”
With this update, LinkedIn's language support has reached a total of 36 languages, allowing many more users across various regions to interact more naturally within the app.
LinkedIn has provided post translation options since 2018, utilizing Microsoft’s Text Analytics API, and it may soon receive an AI upgrade to enhance the accuracy of its translations.
To clarify, your LinkedIn app defaults to the language set on your mobile device to align with your native language. This setting ensures that all LinkedIn-generated content, such as page titles and menus, is displayed in your selected language. However, member-generated content, including posts, will appear in the language in which it was originally written.
Therefore, these expanded language options do not automatically translate all content within the app, but they significantly facilitate engagement in users' preferred languages and allow for better connections with others.
With LinkedIn hosting over a billion member profiles from more than 200 nations, this update is crucial for enabling all users to fully leverage the platform’s various features.
