Instagram is experimenting with carousel posts integrated into the Reels feed.

Considering the fact that the two, Instagram and TikTok, essentially mirror one another by default, you may not be shocked about the latest update by Instagram.

Currently, testing among some users, Instagram has a new feature under its cap - carousels in Reels, where a person can upload multiple videos as well as or just static images within a single post on Reels.

As soon as the coming few weeks are through, more posting options on Instagram's Reels will pop out for its users - an option for having more frames inside a single Reel.

This is exactly what TikTok did: it opened more opportunities for sharing static images, especially in the feed.

Carousel posts can be an additional benefit to you because you'll have a greater choice to display your products and business through telling a more developed story and showing them off in the Reels stream. As Reels is the fastest-growing content format from Meta, it is just wise to try the options on how to present them so that you get to utilize all the chances for greater reach.

No word from Instagram on when this will go fully live, but the UI does look pretty slick, and some brands are already testing the feature in-stream.

We have requested more information from IG. We'll update this post when and if we hear back.

UPDATE 3/13: Features include alternative forms of content such as the Carousel post that is being tested within the different areas of the Reel tab and the rest of its service; the feature isn't specific to the "Reels" category.
