With the holiday break fast approaching, Meta is dropping as many updates for creators as it can, hoping that the more people post stuff on its apps over the break, the better.
Today, Meta is rolling out a slew of new updates for Instagram creation, with a major emphasis on Reels and Stories. These add more filters, updated audio elements, improved drafts, and much more.
To that, Meta is also bringing new English text-to-speech voices to choose from and new text fonts and styles for your content.
To pique your interest, text-to-speech is all the rage these days, and these new voice options will surely catch that interest, along with alternative text fonts as well, adding further options for creativity in presenting your material.
Meta is also experimenting with allowing people to include clips containing audio into their Reels through Meta's GIF "Clip Hub".
That should allow you to embed popular memes into your own photos and videos, creating another way to create engaging content.
Meta is also making some updates to its drafts process:
"We're making it easier to edit your in-progress reels by giving you a streamlined view of all your saved drafts. Not sure which draft you were editing? Soon you'll be able to preview your drafts, rename them, and schedule them in advance."
This would be particularly helpful for the social media manager publishing from a mobile.
Meta is launching new photo filters, including many tone shifts and styles, and it also launches improvements to its search tools in your device's camera roll, improving previews and zooming and searching. Finally, Meta rolls out some updates for its Reels insights, including replay stats.
Meta also disclosed that it has indeed updated the definition of "Reels Plays" meaning that it now includes replays in addition to the initial plays. That may change the fate of your Reels Plays, depending on the situation.
Meta is working on a new Retention Chart for Reels content to help you better understand how your clips hold viewers' interest or lose it.
These are some handy updates, but, as mentioned above, are actually the latest Meta's creation updates ahead of the holiday push.
Meta has also launched the following for Instagram this week: new creation tools for Reels as well as new audience control options for your feed posts and Reels; the company added the ability to create stickers from images last month as well as engagement milestone badges for creators.
With the whole social media scroll over the break, Meta is capitalizing on that and these new options might just get people's imaginations fired up for Reels and Stories during the period.
