Instagram is also trying out another new feature for DM Notes: it works well for the younger users of the app.
New: to continue perfecting Notes connection, Instagram tests selfie videos in Notes-a dynamic, interactive addition to your updates.
with video Notes, your Notes shelf will come to life, which might help to make them more attention-grabbing and encourages interaction.
That is an interesting addition, and with how well the Notes are doing with the younger crowd, who are also more aligned with short-form video, that may actually be an excellent way to drive more engagement there.
Last June, Meta reported that more than 100 Million teen accounts shared a Note over the last 90 days and also claimed that teen users create notes at 10x the rate of non-teens. Furthermore, more than 20% of Notes created by teens get replied.
This could be made even better with video clips, and, maybe, through this, and the roll-out expansion of encrypted messaging in IG that could potentially eventually help the app take a bite out of Snapchat's market share among young audiences.
Instagram states the option is currently in limited testing but another expansion will be coming in the near future.
