Headspace, the popular meditation and relaxation app, will soon arrive on Meta's Quest 3 VR headset in partnership with Meta and Nexus Studios, according to Meta Head of Developer Relations Melissa Brown who made the announcement today at Meta Connect.
Headspace described TechCrunch in an email as a "virtual playground for your mind" and a space to hang out with friends and unwind, find one's focus, and feel more energized. The company hopes that, from such experiences, users take away valuable mindfulness skills learned and incorporate them into their daily lives.
Two significant things the experience focuses on: "Mindfulness experiences that calibrate your mind and body to improve your performance across any VR apps you use" and "Mindfulness experiences that help you transition out of VR and back to the real world." According to Headspace, this Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality world is an opportunity for it to expand its mental health resources and further make its service accessible to people around the world.
Further information on exactly when the immersive experience will go live and what to name it will also be communicated this year, said Headspace.
Meta has announced the $500 Quest 3 headset, which now houses improved passthrough tech, higher-res displays, and better graphics. The company had this news: Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to Meta Quest 3 this December and launches Roblox on Meta Quest VR headsets today.
