Flappy Bird is set to relaunch without the support of its creator, Dong Nguyen, due to a rights dispute.

An organization called The Flappy Bird Foundation said it plans to relaunch the game, a decade after Flappy Bird was removed from app stores.

However, the game's creator Dong Nguyen clarified yesterday that he has nothing to do with the project.

Nguyen emphasized, "I did not sell anything," in a brief statement. He also opposes cryptocurrency, saying, "I also don't support crypto."
The foundation stated that it has obtained the rights from Gametech Holdings, LLC, which claimed to have canceled Nguyen's Flappy Bird trademark.

Of course, the group documents do not mention cryptocurrency but researchers found references to integrate the game with Solana, which may indicate something related to Web 3.0.

Nguyen said he is not a part of the relaunch and seems to be bitter about the whole thing.

This was Flappy Bird, pretty simple game with retro graphics, first released in 2013; this had been the most downloaded application on both the iOS and Android app stores.

Nguyen, however, removed the app in February of 2014, claiming that he could not take it anymore.
