Indeed, OpenAI has just announced its new GPT-4o "omni" model, launched in May, boosting app revenue for the ChatGPT chatbot. Following the model's release, the mobile version of the chatbot has now seen the largest revenue-generating month ever. Net revenue for the app, according to data Appfigures received from the App Store and Google Play, stood at $28 million in July.
Note that net revenue is what OpenAI retains after it pays the in-app purchase fees of Apple's and Google's; the firm also observed that 83% of the app's revenue came from Apple's App Store, a number that has grown by 20% since June.
"The app had grossed $28.9 million in May, $34 million in June and $39.9 million in July, before the app store fees were deducted,".
GPT-4o In the third iteration of the ChatGPT tool, it took the gain from its abilities in the handling of text and added the capability for speech, video, along with faster response times and the ability to be interrupted - a way, in effect, of making human-to-human conversation feel more natural.
According to Appfigures, the growth of the ChatGPT app revenue saw an increase of 40% during May due to the high demand for this new technology. Although that growth slowed down a little later, the revenue still keeps climbing at a healthy rate.
Therefore, based on the revenue generated during July, the estimate by Appfigures puts new record-breaking number of new paying subscribers of the mobile app-for ChatGPT at 2 million.
Advanced Voice Mode was presented to the market by ChatGPT, one of the nearly real-time, lifelike, and seemingly free conversational models around, and growth will continue in the months ahead for Appfigures.
