OpenAI has brought its AI-powered chatbot platform, ChatGPT, to Windows.
Today, the company says it's open to previewing a dedicated Windows app for ChatGPT, the AI-powered chatbot platform.
As of now, it's available for ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise and Edu users. The app is an early version, says OpenAI, which will eventually be available as a "full experience" later this year.
As OpenAI writes, "you'll be able to chat about files and photos with the official ChatGPT desktop app." The app brings you newest model improvements from OpenAI, including access to OpenAI o1-preview, our newest and smartest model.
The ChatGPT app for Windows can be used on most Windows 10 machines, although currently, it lacks a few features when compared to the other ChatGPT clients. For example, voice including Advanced Voice mode isn't supported, and some integrations with the GPT Store by OpenAI aren't available.
Much like the macOS version of the app, the Windows version of the ChatGPT allows you to send this to a smaller "companion" window where you can put it alongside other apps as you work. The file upload and photo take are available on this, and you can ask the chatbot to summarize documents and create images using OpenAI's DALL-E 3 image generator.
