This already was starting to affect most of its hardware because of the EU mandates that were transitioning Lightning to USB-C. Still, there are a few stragglers, and at the top of its list of desktop accessories are its Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad. It addressed the problem Monday.
Apart from M4 refresh on the iMac, Apple now sells accessories with USB-C instead of Lightning. At the same price as their Lightning counterparts, you have the Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and numeric keypad for $199, Magic Trackpad for $149, and Magic Mouse for $99.
All three also come in black and white color options. Color-matched versions will start shipping with the new iMac.
All the accessories can be ordered today and will ship immediately. While the new iMac won't ship until November 8, not much has actually changed with the devices themselves. In fact, not even the oft-criticized design decision to place the port on the bottom of the Magic Mouse has been changed.
The first of a plethora of announcements promised this week by the company are the new iMac, an accessory refresh, and introduction of Apple Intelligence. The latest rumors include the arrival of a new Mac Mini roughly the same size as Apple TV.
